The gardener mould for Orchids is a specific substratum for any kind of orchid. Orchidaceae family, appreciated for the beauty and original shape of f1owers, colors and patterns, comes from Asia and America tropical areas and is composed by herbaceous perennial plants. The most beautiful available genera and easier to cultivate are: Phaleenopsis, Cymbidium, Cattleya, Dendrobium.
HOW TO CULTIVATE AND RE-EMBED ORCHIDS
Orchids cultivation is performed in pots bigger than 14 cm diameter. Re-embedding is to be made – into larger pots – only when the plant grows up greater than the pot, in order to obtain abundant f1owering. Otherwise, the plants would produce many bulbs and scarce f1owers. Re-embedding is also requested when the substratum gets poor and cracking.
Always take care not to damage the roots.
Specific coarse-grained substratum, ready to use, is essential for pot cultivation of all species of orchids. Due to their tropical origin, orchids need a gradual and continuous absorption of humidity and nourishing elements, along with an important roots aeration assured by air availability inside the substratum.
Peat: its fibrous consistency keeps the growing medium soft and assures plants the nutrients they need. Maritime pine bark: for improved root aeration.
