Characteristics

Volcanic lapillus is a coarse siliceous rock that originates from volcanic eruptions. It is very light and decorative, preventing weed growth. Lapillus is used to lighten and make compact soil more draining, or as a mulch, instead of bark. It is an excellent thermal insulator and it protects the soil from sunlight in summer and frost in winter.
